Coastal Electrical & Air provides a range of commercial services to ensure the smooth running of your business! We are experienced in a wide variety of commercial settings including corporate office environments, retail stores, spas & beauty salons, medical centres, restaurants & pubs, cafes, gyms, and more!

Fit outs/Expansions

If you are moving into a new space or expanding your business, we can assist you with all your electrical and data needs. As your business grows, it is important to create a work environment to accommodate that, and we are here to support your company as it continues to expand. We can help with the technical and functional side of things (such as switchboard installations, data cabling, power points and network outlets) as well as the aesthetic components such as lighting and television installation.

Fault Finding & Repairs

If you are experiencing anything out of the ordinary with your electrical installation whether its flickering lights, sparking/crackling switches or power points, tripping circuits or things smoking, we have the knowledge and experience to find the problem and repair it to get you back up and running as safely and as quickly as possible.

Test and Tag, Emergency & Exit Light Testing, and RCD Testing – These 3 services can be scheduled to be completed at the same time to minimise the disruption to your workplace and maximise efficiency (as the testing intervals can fall at the same time). We know how busy it can be running a business, so we can set up a regular testing schedule for you with recurring bookings as required and contact you prior to the booking to confirm and make sure everything is ready for us to attend. This gives you one less thing to organise and it ensures your testing doesn’t become out of date.

Test and Tag

Testing and tagging is the process of inspecting, testing and tagging portable electrical appliances to ensure that they are all in safe, working order. It is a recommended safety procedure for all businesses and is mandated in some industries. It may also be a requirement of your business or public liability insurance that all plug-in electrical equipment be tested and tagged on a regular basis and a record of testing kept at your place of business.

Emergency & Exit Light Testing

We can carry out all required periodic testing and maintenance of your emergency lighting systems to ensure that your business is compliant with relevant legislation. Emergency lighting testing must be carried out by a qualified electrician, to confirm the building’s emergency lighting system conforms to Australian standard AS/NZS 2293.2. These standards dictate that six monthly testing be carried out.

Once testing has been carried out, we can quote to repair or replace any faulty emergency lights, batteries, or other components.

RCD (Safety Switch) Testing

A Residual Current Device (RCD) is in place to detect changes in electrical currents, and it halts the flow of electricity into the socket. The switch works to prevent dangerous electrical environments and potential electrical shock. RCD testing must be completed to meet a legislated Australian standard – AS/NZS 3760:2010. According to this standard, portable and fixed RCDs are required to undergo push button tests, and a combined operating time and push button test. These tests are required at a series of different intervals depending on the situation, ranging from 3 months to 2 years. Once testing is complete, you will be issued with a report outlining the test results and provide a quote for any items that require attention. This report is compulsory under the standard, and a copy will also be kept in our system.
